Unlike previous installments in the series, which primarily take place in Diamond City, the game takes place on a new tropical location, named Caresaway Island. The party mode of the game features five multiplayer modes (two returning from WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!) which can be played with up to four players, who each choose a crew member to play as.
